Had the weirdest dream  where the doorbell was ringing and ringing, but did not wake me up.  It was later that I woke up wondering if the phone was ringing or what, even though the doorbell in the dream did not sound like any of my devices.  Hmm.

The weirdest things turn up when you Pesach clean:  here's a card that apparently I started writing to my fiance...but never gave it to him.  It was a long time ago!!!  Maybe I decided that it was too "modernish", with the cute little hippie couple. Eventually the hippie had to come out...with white hair yet.

Early Onset Alzheimers

I decided to try out my acrylic paints using a  glass object that I thought was an apple.  It was giving me a hell of a time,  and not until I finished the painting did I remember that it was a red pepper and not an apple.  No wonder I was having a hard time with getting the shape right, my eye is trying to draw an apple while my brain is remembering that all the glass objects are vegetables and not fruits. Duh! The pencil sketch came after I remembered what it was supposed to be, and after watching an instructional video on youtube, on how to hold a pencil and sketch quickly. And what's cool is that I was sitting pretty far away from the object and yet the drawing came out nice and big.

the first three are drawings from today's portrait class; the fourth is a charcoal drawing from last week, with Lyle Gerts' over drawing that he did as a demo for another of my drawings....I like the way it looks taped on top of the unrelated drawing....

Based on the Betty Edwards' exercise using a grid...thanks to my teacher Brana Duronivc I was able to develop more concentration than I ever had although this drawing could probably use more work. Thanks also to my teacher Minerva Durham whose knowledge of anatomy is truly astonishing. AND she gave me the clear plastic for the picture plane.
